So I've been totally dead the past 3 days becuase I'm really sick. I woke up Saturday morning and the right side of my throat was a little swollen..and I didn't really think much of it, it happens every once in a while and it always goes away. I woke up Sunday morning around 6:30am becuase I couldn't swallow without it feeling like someone was

That sounds *just* like Mono =/ But it could be Strep-
There are two tests- 1 takes 10 minutes and has a possible false-negative. The other one takes a couple of days, and is a sure-fire way of knowing. I had both done when I was sick, and (since it was Mono) both tests were negative for Strep.
(Oh, the test just requires cells from your throat by using a swab)

Last year I got really sick and my throat was killing me and my doctor was like "well, it looks like mono, but we can't be sure yet" so I missed a bunch of school days and as I felt better the test came back negative and it ended up just being a random throat virus. So, you never know, I guess.
