I tell them that a lot at my store. I'm sorry that your phone broke a month out of warranty, it'll be 50 dollars if you want warranty work done on it.

Ha! I laugh at your $50. $24.95 for shipping to our service center, $60/hour for our technicians at the service center to find whats wrong. $60/hour to fix it + the cost of parts from the manufacturer.

I love telling that to someone who has a $100 printer.

well that is the glory of a flatrate cellphone warrant work. Bear in mind 99% of the phones are too badly damaged by the user ever to actually be eligable for warranty repair/replacement.
