PS, the mako... I'm sure there's some blurb about it having Eezo in it somewhere, allowing it to land and takeoff where it's too risky for a ship. Dunno why that means you only get 5 seconds of 'jump', though.

Also, took me bloody ages to figure out that you could actually get out of the thing and walk. The "follow the geth into the tunnels" mission took rather a lot longer than it should have first time round :P

I knew you must be able to get out of the Mako when I figured out you couldn't examine anything from inside the vehicle - it just took me awhile to work out how. I only figured it out as quickly as I did when I miskeyed and hit Q when I neant to hit W. And maybe the Mako saves all its major jump for getting back aboard the Normandy? Though that doesn't explain why the Normandy won't land on a Level 1 Hazard planet; that's pretty damn mild.

As to female characters in ME2 ... maybe; haven't got that far yet. I won't judge until I see whether they pulled shit like the constant cleavage shots of Matriarch Benezia or the particularly loving close-ups we keep getting of the arses of, for example, Sha'ira the Consort and, in the ME2 stuff I've seen, Miranda. I mean, it'd be one thing if they did that with Kaidan too, but nooooooooo. :3

ME probably has always suffered dudebro syndrome in its marketing and its gameplay, but keep in mind that this is the first time I've seen it first-hand. It was only last year that I realised you could actually have a female Shepard, if that tells you anything. (As to gay pairings ... doesn't Liara count? Or is that something else because she's from a monogendered race? Either way, the fact that you can have girl-on-girl and not guy-on-guy is its own species of repugnant ( ... )
