I have been quiet. I am fully aware of this. There has not been much to say or I just haven't really wanted to get into it. That and I didn't really want to dump a whooooooooole bunch of "I played Mass Effect 2 and flailed immensely" on my LJ/DW ( Read more... )

"It wasn't a spoiler! I just wanted to let you know what was coming up!" not so much, but "Those weren’t spoilers! I was just letting you know there’s more," I can see where she's coming from.

Some people feel that letting someone know there's more out there at all is badness, some people argue that you're only in spoilerville when specific about what it is. Just depends on where the limit is for you, I guess.

I'm good either way, I snapped and ran gleefully through some of the IGN walk-through videos already *facepalm*

I do see your point. To be fair, if it had been handled differently, I'd have reacted a lot better. Thing is, I'd actually been very clear in previous posts about not wanting to know at all. Clearly she wasn't paying attention. Even that I could accept if she hadn't gone into passive-aggressive mode when I told her, politely but point-blank, that I considered that a spoiler. The polite response to being told "Please can we stop having this conversation because I don't want spoilers, even mostly vague ones, as direct replies" is not "But it wasn't a spoiler! *insert long-winded justification here*". I made my personal limit clear and she didn't want to know. Then she started posting 'teaser spoilers' in her Tumblr under no tags at all because she apparently doesn't care where that line is for anyone anymore, so I am unfollowing her now. Easier than getting grumpy about it.

I was trying to find the demo version of a shareware app. Couldn't find it. Emailed author. "It's shareware without a trial period"

....isn't that the definition of shareware? Software you try before you buy?

"It was too vague to count as a spoiler" is about what she said and that's lame. You did the right thing.
