Characters: Open Location: Mahc Chamel Children's Center Planet: Coruscant When: Week 24, shortly after the distress signal What: The Revanites respond to a distress call sent by Republic forces Rating: TBA
[Isolde stares up that hospital, watching the droids move around and a couple of children actually walking outside the building, seemingly under no duress at all.
That doesn't seem right. At all.] This is a trap. [She already knew it was a possibility; after all, the signals weren't accompanied by anybody familiar, but there's a heavy pit in her stomach.
I don't understand unless you mean all are more popular than us. There doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary. [ Not that he would know. He just has a hunch. Plus, her whole 'this is a trap' idea. ] If this is a trap, where's the hook?
Revan isn't more popular than us. We will have a problem if that happens. [She says it dryly, shaking her head.] That I... don't know.
[It takes a second, before her eyes widen.] I've... I've seen this maneuver before. [Years of war and military strategy are still burned into her brain.] How many of us would resist coming to help out those in need? And even if it wasn't to help, we would come out of curiosity.
[She nods.] Not just them, but the other places where the distress calls are coming from.
We don't even know how much time, what they're planning on doing... [There's a moment of harsh realization as she looks over the hospital again.] We can't save everyone.
We can hardly save anyone. [ He looks at her, thinking that they could save themselves, but he doesn't voice that opinion. ] And we aren't the only ones who've met this distress call.
[What would Atton do? Leave, she realizes. He would drag her away, kicking and screaming. Anything to protect her. But he isn't here, and she has to do something.] No, we aren't, but they will have to take care of themselves at the moment. I... I'm going to get closer. Regardless of what it is, even a few lives is better than none.
[She looks at him, suddenly unsure.] You could get hurt, if you stay.
Then you save yourself. [There's no harsh tone to her words, just a finality. He can do as he pleases, but she's moving closer, letting herself open to the Force.]
[It's an echo at first, vibrating out on the edge of her senses, but she knows what it is immediately, even before the bombs go off. Everything's instinctual now. There's no time to contain the explosion, even as it rips through the foundation of the hospital and shakes the ground outside. One life goes out, and then another.
She grabs onto some of the other lives near her, tossing a shield up. A few lives are better than none, even as the force of the explosion throws her back, heat scorching over her even through her meager shield of protection. There's a brief second where she tosses out a warning of panic to her bonds before she crashes to the ground again.]
[ As soon as the explosion begins, Adam covers his face. The force of the explosion knocks him a few feet back. The minor burns he suffers heal, wounds closing up.
But, looking up, before the flames, he can see Isolde's body on the ground. While he has self preservation on the mind, the explosion is over so he quickly moves over to her and crouches down. ]

Those are children in there, and this is a trap.]

They want people here. [ He watches two small children who look like they're under no duress whatsoever. ]

There are no soldiers, none of the Republic rushing off to check on the hospital, no guards.]
Not just people. Us, maybe.

We're the targets.
