[Lady, you are not fooling an empath. Even one as untutored as Luke, who is warding off the cold - it's not so cold most people notice, but everywhere is cold when you're a Tatooiner - with a very singular article of clothing. He was just occupied with gawping at the fair - the little markets in the upper Underworld helped prepare him, but it's still a sight - when she catches his eye.]

[Luke hesitates - he wants to find Leia - but only for a moment.]

...Hi. Um. Are you okay?

[:c Don't call her out. Everything is pretty, at least.

She's caught off guard at the appearance of the kid and mentally kicks herself for it. Torture trauma aside, she should really be getting back up on that Force thing.]

The fireworks. [She points up and grins.] Pretty, right? [She pauses, glancing over his outfit.] What are you wearing...?

[Uh huh.

[He looks up, clasping his hands behind his back in that minor respect-gesture, and does not seem impressed.]

They're all right. Not as good as they'd be back home - we've got clearer air and a lot less light pollution.

I don't know, but it's warm and not something I'd see back home. I like it.

[BC Just appreciate the fireworks, tiny babby manchild.]

Doesn't make them any less pretty, though. Perfection isn't reality.

[Giving that thing another once-over and smirking.] It's not all that cold out here. Feels good, actually. Much better than the last planet I was stuck on.

They're not perfect there, either. Just... brighter. [...he's starting to get the slightest tinges of homesickness.]

It's always cold here, to me. Where I'm from, it's a binary star system and the light bounces off of all that sand. The nights are cooler, but I had a coat for then, too.

Was it a cold world, then?

[She catches that and frowns.] I guess I'm just so used to the lights around here that something different is... Well. Different.

You're from here, aren't you? Not Coruscant, but this galaxy.

[Catty purses her lips, taking a second to think about that. Korriban was actually really warm, but...] Sort of! It just had a really unpleasant feel in the air.

Yeah... I'm from Tatooine, way out in the future. It's boring then, it would be even more boring now. [He'd go to Anchorhead and nothing would be familiar at all.]

The whole planet? I found a place once that just... felt evil. It wasn't anything you could see or hear, my friend didn't feel it, but...

[pathtosacrifice]

[There's a very long pause.] Tatooine in the future, huh? About 4000 years or so?

[She nods.] The whole planet. It's not a place I'd recommend for vacation spots. [Her head tilts, a knowing grin sliding onto her face.] You're Force sensitive.

I guess. I haven't figured out the dates. But it is a long time.

[This makes him shift uncomfortably. Sure, this is something that can be openly admitted to here, but he's been told since before he can remember not to let anyone know.] ...'S possible.

[pathtosacrifice]

[She's pretty sure at this point that she knows who this kid is. Sure, he's a lot younger than she expected him to show up as, but hey. She didn't think that Kyp would have come back here as a teenager either. Leaning forward, Catty drops her voice to a whisper.] I am too. [And then she winks.]

[sand_wormie]

You are? [Blink. Swallow that 'argh argh why is she saying this in public' reflex.] So are you a Jedi, then?

[pathtosacrifice]

I am! [There's a quick shake of her head.] That's more complicated. I guess I am? But I'm being trained by Jacen Solo, not any of the Jedi from this time.

[sand_wormie]

I know Jacen! [...wait didn't he just die. Erm. Awkward. Well, she used the present tense, so ignore that moment of uncertainty and soldier on!]

He was telling me I should get trained, too. And future Jedi do things differently than these do. I haven't really talked to anyone, though. You have to ask, I bet.

[pathtosacrifice]

[She smiles, though it's... sort of sad. She was there when he died, but the kid doesn't need to know that.] Getting trained is a good idea. So is asking. I'm sure there would be plenty of people willing to help you if you don't want to go to the Temple, but they wouldn't mind either.

[Holding out her hand now.] I'm Catty.

[sand_wormie]

Yeah... it's just that where I'm from you really don't mention Jedi, or Jedi power, or that kind of thing. [He's obviously a bit uncomfortable.] You... you just don't. I know it's different here, but...

[He ends up thinking about what his family would want, and he's not sure.]

I'm Luke Skywalker.

[pathtosacrifice]

Back where I'm from, it's sort of the same. You don't talk about magic, or it'll get you locked up. People think you're crazy. [She smiles again.] But we're mostly safe here, so don't be afraid.

[Homg, you're so tiny, Mister Skywalker, and very adorable, and Catty definitely has to stomp the glee that's starting to light up her face like a firecracker.]
