Everytime I see pictures of this scene the song plays in my head. Talk about a flaming torch. Marshall's expressions are wrenching. I remember thinking omg they aren't, omg, yes they are, as the scene played out. It was a big chance for the series to take. Marshall is declaring his feelings for the viewers even if Mary doesn't see them. Quality writing.
