Who was your buddy this month? siberian_angel What books were chosen for you? A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin, Tarhapäivä by Eve Hietamies, Flesh and Spirit by Carol Berg Did you manage to read your books? Which ones? I only read A Game of Thrones, but it's +800 pages so it's almost like reading two books. Right? ;) If you read more than one, did you enjoy them? What was your favorite? n/a Would you recommend your chosen book(s)? If you haven't read A Game of Thrones yet then you should. Can't believe it took me so many years to finally read it! It was totally worth the wait, though. Did you read anything else this month, outside of your chosen books? I read A Tree Grows In Brooklyn by Betty Smith and The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan
Who was your buddy this month?unbound_ophelia What books were chosen for you? Crazy by Benjamin Lebert Ruby Slippers, Golden Tears edited by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling Certain Women by Madeleine L'Engle Did you manage to read your books? Which ones?I read Crazy and Ruby Slippers... If you read more than one, did you enjoy them? What was your favorite?Yes, they were both decent. Probably Ruby Slippers Would you recommend your chosen book(s)?Crazy is an autobiographical coming of age story written by a teenager. In someways, while it is well-written, it is too simply written, although he wrote better than many adults I've read, and there is some crude sexuality...I mean, teenaged boys. On the otherhand, there're some surprisingly deep thoughts being explored by these boys sometimes. Target audience, probably teen to young adult men
