Here you can be anything, anything that scares you. I think that scares you.

Ever have one of those days where you feel like you've discovered the secrets? After a bit of inward time on my part I realized I have everything I could possibly need. The people in my life, family, friends, including you guys, are all I could hope for: giving, loving, hilarious, perseverant. They, you, chase after me when I go hide in my little ( Read more... )

I'm living the dream of some bum hanging on a streetcorner in my very city, and it is a charmed, charmed existence.

That's an interesting thought. Are you living the dream of yourself 5 years ago? I sometimes think about that, and usually find that I am, and that makes me think I need medication. I'm glad that you are enjoying your success in life though!

PS. There was a power outage last time I was talking to you on AIM.

If you had told me I would be in Germany, I would have given you a straaaange look. thesubtleknife December 30 2004, 21:27:56 UTC
I think I only had very vague notions of what I would be doing in... oh, junior year of high school? But I knew I'd be writing, at any rate. It's cool to look at things in that light... I don't know if it's that I'm suddenly successful in life. I think I just stopped to see what I already had, because I was getting a little fed-up with myself for not getting certain things done and gawking at other people's success. If you've never seen the anime series Fruit Basket (which I've mentioned before), you should watch it, because there's a brilliant metaphor about everybody having an onigiri on their back, that everybody but them can see. Maybe I was just able to glance at mine briefly. Sometimes it helps to see yourself through others' eyes for a second... keeps it all in perspective.

What did you think you'd be doing back five years ago? More's the pity about AIM, and here you were giving me such good ideas on that enviro stuff :)
