Post-Xmas knitting post

Here's what I've been working on since finished Xmas presents.  A bunch of stuff for myself, and one birthday present.  (Probably most of my LJ friends have seen these on Facebook, this is mostly for me and was originally posted to Knitting LJ community.)

First of all my SELBU MODERN hat.

Yarns: Crystal Palace Mini Mochi in "Strawberry-Limes Rainbow" & Lana Grossa Meilenweitt Soja (Nylon & SOY.  So soft!)
This was my first time doing such an intricate color pattern/chart, and also my first time using such small needles (Size 0 for the ribbing, and size 2 for the rest of the hat.)
The pattern "Selbu Modern" is free online: http://kelbournewoolens.com/selbumodern.html

Next, KRTEK scarf.

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Baby Alpaca Chunky
Followed the pattern, but wish I had made it longer to wrap twice around my neck, and I'm not 100% happy with the button placement because it won't stay buttoned a lot of the time, but I've been too lazy to fix it.  The yarn is very cozy though!
Pattern is seemingly only available as a Ravelry download.  ("Krtek")

BROAD STREET MITTENS

Yarns: Lana Grossa Meilenweitt Soja (same as Selbu) & Filatura Di Crosa Gioiello (from my stash)
I was originally going to do these in solid gray, but after having to re-do the first one (knit the hand and the first finger and tried it on to find that it was HUMONGOUS on me. See ravelry notes for the sad story) I decided to use the Gioiello from my stash to add some pizzazz, and I'm very happy with the result!
Broad Street Mittens are a free pattern on Knitty: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall02/PATTbroadstreet.html

STAR TREK POT HOLDERS

Yarn: Cascade 220 Superwash from my stash - all 3 colors.
Finally got around to finishing the second one of these. The yellow one was completed in October, but the blue one was not finished until January due Xmas presents, etc and being generally unenthusiastic about double knitting.
Pattern is free online: http://offthehookastronomy.blogspot.com/2009/08/star-trek-pot-holders-free-pattern.html

Lastly, the BACON SCARF!

Yarn: Berrocco Ultra Alpaca - both colors
I really didn't want to double-knit an entire scarf (I did this once before and swore to never do it again) but I have a friend who absolutely HAD to have this scarf and she loves it so much it was entirely worth the almost 5 weeks of tedium.  And it looks good too!
Pattern is free online: http://www.theanticraft.com/archive/beltane08/vegan.htm

Thanks for looking!  More details are over on my ravelry project pages.  Look me up as "shawnooke" and add me if you want!
