[020] [voice + action]

Nothing can excuse how I acted last week. I know I hurt a few people...

If I attacked you or someone you know, and you want some kind of revenge or compensation, I'll be waiting south of the village, where the river meets the woods.

Bring reinforcements, if you don't trust that I won't do it again.

I want to make this right.

[So Angel's ( Read more... )

[My, who's that lurking behind a tree a good distance away, just watching, and with a bandage around her neck?]

[He knows she's there, hopes she's far enough under the tree to keep dry, and hopes she's watching him get slapped up by everyone. She seems like the sort who would be satisfied with that kind of payback.]

[She's going to "sneakily" move a bit closer before throwing a rock at Angel.]

You jerk!

Why can't you send balloons or a teddy bear with a cute little get well card, like normal people do?

[If he tries to reply back, he'll get no answer. She has closed to journal and left it at home. Instead, she's out a-lurking in the woods. Keeping an eye on things.]

[This is AFTER EVERY OTHER THREAD. ANYONE ELSE CAN START A THREAD BELOW THIS, this will just occur after that. If you want to jump on the Angel-slapping bandwagon, anyone, feel free.]

[Anyway, timeskip until after everything. Buffy's been around to see pretty much all of the above and below. They've got about forty-five minutes before sunrise, and it doesn't look like anybody else is showing up.

Angel's... still waiting in the rain though, where he's been all night. Just in case, maybe, but he looks like a muddy wet kicked puppy almost lost in thought.]

[Out from her little lurky neck of the woods, she arrives. Arms crossed and striding slowly, Buffy clicks her tongue softly at the sight of him. Muddy wet kicked puppy, indeed.]

Looks like we're making a habit of this. Y'know, the part where I swoop in and make sure you get home safely.

[He glances up at the sounds of someone approaching, then back down at the ground. Then up at Buffy again, as if something occurred to him. Now he's slipping off his coat and holding it over her head.]

It's raining. You should go home.

Have you ever considered it wasn't your fault? You obviously weren't yourself.

[She may not have been one of the victims, but she did hear the drama.]

Thanks... I mean it.

But... [He doesn't even how to begin to explain.] It's more complicated than that.

How? [And here she's going to make a random stab in the dark and see if she's right.]

You became the thing you hated most, which seems to be yourself, but a more... darker personality. You feel guilty because that persona hurt others.

I understand if that's the case.

I'm not taking revenge. I'm letting those who won't be satisfied with just an apology come take theirs.

[Dude, she takes a little time off for herself to go off and explore without all these people talking to her through a book and she comes back to find the only person who ever dragged her out of her little suicidal death spiral basically tossing his life up for grabs. She comes rampaging.]

Hell's wrong with you??

[Okay, so inelegant but decking him is probably exactly what he's looking for and he was damn well getting that out of his system fast.]

Angelus.

[That stops her for a minute because hello, Angelus is a smug sonofabitch and Angel doesn't look like that right but a girl can't ever be too careful.]

What, now?

[But no, she had very clearly seen a line of people traipse away from him having already exacted their dues. At least one of them would've had a snapped neck from an Angelus encounter she was pretty sure. So she settles for crossing her arms instead.]

Aren't you the one always preaching that there're other ways of repenting?

Repenting to myself, yeah. But these people weren't dead, they were angry, and I'm not sure how many of them would see that as my taking the high road.
