Peru, huh?
Kate had never been to Peru, and while she liked her captain, the rather flippant message that had been delivered to the crew was a bit unsettling. They were going to search for mystical crystal skulls of some kind. While Kate had grown up a bit on hero worship and snatched tales from her father's 'adventures', so the concept itself wasn't too hard to swallow... but she did find herself a bit perplexed at the choice, herself. However, Oriana seemed like a whimsical woman, and Kate was here to work under the captain, not question her.
Which is why she was making a round of the weapons on the deck. Most were arquebus style weapons, some were less identifiable to her. It was an odd selection, and it was clear that whoever had put the weapons together had done so either haphazardly, or over the years. No matter, Kate was good with just about any weapon. It was... a talent. Gunpowder and a spark, that's all that was needed.
She had yet to actually meet any of the other gunners on the Bow, which was a bit disappointing. Perhaps she should check that message board, or look for them herself. They better be the kind of people who followed orders exactly and succintly, or she'd get a headache. Kate did not like amateurs, they did nothing but get themselves in trouble. Which was not to say that they couldn't be trained, and she had some proof of that in certain young men. That thought brought a small smile to her face.
Kate adjusted her sunglasses, giving the early morning sun some competition.
