Character(s): Atemu and anyone who would like to bother him.
Content: Atemu reads up on basic sea battle strategy and tries to learn how to read. Oh the fun!
Setting: Crew's quarters, Hajimaru
Time: Tuesday, Night
Warnings: Atemu doesn't speak English! That's about it.
Atemu was actually mildly surprised that he wasn't one of the people who had become seasick. Considering it was his first time on a boat, that time heading to Pegasus' Kingdom did not really count as he wasn't using a body at the time, he halfway expected to get sick. Of course he was extremely thankful that he wasn't sick, but that was neither here nor there.
Sitting on his hammock, Atemu had been quietly flipping through one of the sea battle strategy books he had picked up before they had left port. He was very unfamiliar with anything at sea, so reading up on the subject wouldn't hurt him any. After looking through a bookstore for hours he had managed to find a few volumes that were on the subject and they happened to be in Japanese.
Of course, this was a problem. Atemu couldn't read a word of the stuff, so he was mostly looking at the pictures. Some of the symbols looked familiar, didn't Yuugi call that hiragana?, and he had put the book down when he finally couldn't tolerate it any more. Flipping open his logbook, he ran a search for some Japanese language sites that taught the alphabet, determined to overcome this little problem of his.
Finding a decent looking site, he started the process of learning his hiragana, feeling a bit like a two year old.
