it's 45 minutes in the middle of the night and an hour plus in traffic. especially if you are by yourself and can't use the carpool lane.

When we first moved up here, our place was so far out. It sometimes took 45 minutes just to go to Target. We drove a ton, because it was either that or total isolation. At first Rosemary was a bear in the car. She was crying and having tantrums and driving me crazy. Then I got smart and put a toy bag in the car. There's a magna doodle, various books, toys that only get played with in the car. I also threw away what I wanted to listen to in the car and started playing kids CDs. Before I knew it, that time in the car was fun bonding time.
Besides, it sounds like the kids want to see Stephen more just as much as he wants to see them more. So, what's worse? Spending more time in the car or less time with their dad? I'm guessing they'd both pick car time.
