well he was boozing and talking to himself, but that is kind of like a bachelor's degree for crazy people: it qualifies you but it doesn't distinguish you. mostly what made him extracrazy was that every once in a while he would wig out and start clapping, whistling, stomping, and beating on the empty seats next to him. also he was really upset about the fact that the woman sitting nearest to him had black hair. he was trying to point out to everybody how outrageous this woman's hair was, but nobody was really having it, which usually set him off whistling and clapping again.

well, out of the seven hour day i spend probably five on the desk, so i guess that boils down to 25 out of a 35 hour week.

also there's going to be assholes playing politics in any big library system. i think what the other librarian told you is true. some people just don't like anybody, or are threatened by people who want to do a good job. hopefully you will have plenty of psychos! otherwise it would be so boring.
