Since Ultraman Nexus was cut short a lot of things were rushed in Ren's story arc. So headcanon mixed in with canon facts.

- IT IS REALLY HARD TO MAKE REN NOT LIKE SOMEONE. He likes nearly everyone.

- Until he ran away from the hospital - aside from his one adventure to the ocean - Ren had never left the academy before. He was created and raised there like all Prometheus Children.

- Ren falls somewhere in the middle range of psychic powers among the Prometheus Children because 1) he honestly wasn’t created as ‘strong’ in that aspect as several others and 2) he doesn’t focus on using them as many of the other Children did as he’s more inclined to do things with his body. AKA he tends to ignore the powers he has.

- Ren made up for this with his enhanced physical attributes like reflexes and strength and stamina combined with his curiosity. He’s not as strong or quick as he used to be considering his body is slowly self-destructing at this stage.

- All Prometheus Children graduate high school by at least 14 and Ren managed that with ease, perhaps even earlier. He learns things very quickly, especially if he’s interested in them.

- He caused the most trouble out of the Prometheus Children when he was younger. Most of the others were content to simply learn, but he liked to investigate and often enough instigated others into helping him. But no one ever really got mad at him because he was always cheerful and appropriately sorry if something went really wrong.

- The doctors and teachers at the academy started to suspect something was wrong with Ren’s genetic makeup when he reached 14. When he was 15, they confirmed that the defect would eventually kill him and started working on a cure. By the end of his 16th year he was hospitalized and shortly after he was told that the development of the drug, Raphael, was canceled.

- Ren ran away to the ocean for a day when he was 14-and-a-half because he was far from oblivious that the doctors were testing him more often and he hacked the test results they were keeping from him. He did it because he wanted one last adventure. He was kept in ‘detention’ when he was caught and returned, but that was a cover up so the other Prometheus Children wouldn’t know he was undergoing a battery of tests.

- Ren wanted Yuu to come with because they were opposites in talents and dispositions, but they shared very similar lines of thinking and he was the first person that Ren felt a direct connection too.

- Ren is okay with people finding out that he’s a Prometheus Child and to a slightly lesser extent that he’s Ultraman Nexus. He really, really doesn’t want people to know he’s dying (ahahaha). He ran away from the hospital because he did want a chance to live life as a normal person, but also because he was tired of causing people to worry over him and ultimately because he was scared.

- The Academy knew where he went. Ren didn’t try to hide it really. But they didn’t make an attempt to capture him because they actually aren’t horrible people and have decided to let him live out his days the way he wants. (As a top secret branch of a secret global organization, they did not tell the head of TLT his location.)

- He doesn’t lie. Or tries not to. If he doesn’t want to answer something he will dodge the question or plainly admit that he’s not going to say anything about it. However if confronted with a true fact (being a Promethe Child and/Ultraman/his condition) he will admit it straight up without a problem.

- Since he ran away from the hospital, he’s only told two people about certain ‘secrets’ of his. He appeared to Yuu and acknowledged that he was the new Dunamist because Yuu knew all the rest of his secrets and he trusted him. And he told Ojiro that his parents were DNA . . . and then laughed it off as a joke when Ojiro started worrying.

- Before he left the academy, Ren understood that certain things - generally relationship-wise - existed, but never really got why until he left. Like why families were so important (and families are totally his favorite thing in the outside world aside from the ocean).

- Actually thinks he is quite worthless. He's a mistake. Probably never should have existed in the first place. But that doesn't mean he regrets his life.
