After her arrival on the island, Cassie goes to seek out Tim's new Titan. Once she meets Jill, she isn't impressed, but then that might have something to do with her best friend from home being a blond, super hero archer.

When Cassie had heard that one of Tim's new recruits was an archer, she'd immediately been apprehensive. There was only one archer that belonged with them, but Arrowette wasn't on the island. Still, she knew she should meet this new girl before passing judgment so after asking Bart where she'd find Jill, she headed out to the archery range. Once she arrived, she stood back, knowing better then to interrupt an archer while they were shooting and just watched.

Jill squinted into the sun, sighting the target. She'd been putting in extra time, lately - largely because Roy was around, but she liked the almost serenity she got from shooting. She felt balanced when she was here on the archery field, and it was like all her troubles fell away.

She'd been trained by Tim as much as the rest of them had, and the back of her neck itched; she knew she was being watched. "Did you need something?" She hadn't even looked at whoever it was, yet.

The girl hadn't even turned her head to know Cassie was there. Well, she was Tim trained so she knew she had the right person. Cassie didn't move, just shrugged. "Not really. Just watching."

Jill smiled, and when she finished the round, she looked over at the other girl. Young, blonde. Bright, the way Dick was, maybe. "Well, if you want to learn- I mean, I can show you, if you want." She walked down the range to pull her arrows from the archery butt. "I'm Jill, by the way. Jill Pole."

Cassie just made small noise at the offer. "Nah, I leaving the shooting to my best friend. She's a gold medalist." She couldn't help herself, comparing this girl to Cissie. It was petty maybe but damnit...she missed her best friend something awful. "Cassie. Cassie Sandsmark. Tim and Bart might have called me Wonder Girl." She let that hang in the air as she watched Jill pull her arrows from the butt.

"Oh. I- Right." Her brows knit for a moment, then rose when she said that she was Wonder Girl. "Oh, so you're a Titan? I mean- That's wonderful. Tim and Bart must be thrilled." She smiled again, trying to seem welcoming even as she wracked her brain for everything that she could think of that they'd ever said about the other girl. "Have you talked to them, yet? I mean, of course you have." She shook her head. "... Did they tell you about me?" That she was a Titan, that is.

"You know, I can't get used to that term. When I came from, we were Young Justice, not Titans." No one had told her why they'd made the switch but a part of her was afraid to ask, because it couldn't have been good. "And yeah, I've seen them. Both taller then I remember. And they tell me you're the new archer." She put a certain emphasis on the last word, as if it was hard for her to say.

Jill hesitated. "I'm... an archer, yes." She bit the inside of her lip. "I- I guess I don't really know anything about Young Justice, really. Bart and Tim hadn't told me about it besides talking about all of you together." There was something in her tone that made Jill worry.

"It was where we all met. Tim, Bart, Me, Superboy, Secret....and Arrowette." Cassie grinned at the last. "She was our archer up until she retired."

"Bart and Tim told me about her," Jill said quietly. "It was a very brave thing she did, stepping down why she did. I can understand why she did it." She finished pulling out arrows, and had shuffled them back into her quiver. "I'd like to meet her, someday."

Cassie frowned. For some reason, she didn't like Jill knowing so much about Cissie. How could she understand why Cissie did it, when Cassie barely did? "You'd be lucky. She was something else, Cissie was. She was the best friend I could ask for and the best at everything she did."

Jill frowned, too. There were a couple of things that didn't quite fit; that Cassie was talking about Cissie like she'd died, and... she was some sort of shining paragon. Was that why Tim said that she and Cissie weren't really alike? "She may show up, especially if the trend continues. Someone Tim knows showed up, then Dick, then Roy, then you."

Cissie wasn't here when Cassie needed her and she didn't even know when she was going to see her again. That was almost as bad as her having died. "I can only hope right?" She said with a grin.

"Well.... yes, actually." She made a face. "I'm sorry - I mean, that she's not here and you're... stuck. Here." It couldn't be easy. "Do you know if you're coming to live with us, yet?"

Kinda slow this girl was. Cassie just raised her eyebrows and shook her head slightly before nodding at Jill's question. "Yeah, I just scoped out the tree house and spoke to Tim. I'm taking over Dick's room apparently."

Jill's brows rose, yet again. Not meaning to mirror Cassie's facial expressions, she was just... surprised. "Oh. Well." She... of course, she'd been out all day. It wasn't like they'd hit everyone up to tell them just that people were getting shifted around. "Do you need anything? I mean, I've got some clothes and lights and things."

What did Jill expect? Cassie was from the same place as the rest of them. Where else was she going to live? "Nah, I think I'm getting things together. Bart and Tim are being more then accommodating." From what she'd seen, she wasn't sure she wanted this girl's help.

"Well... alright," Jill said with a small, uncomfortable smile. "If... if you do need anything, I mean. I'll do whatever I can."

"Sure thing. I'll let you know." Cassie said, grinning quite proud of herself. She'd gotten the upper hand in this conversation and it hadn't exactly been difficult. "I'll let you get back to your practice now, alright?"

"Alright," Jill said, her brow still knit. "It... was nice to meet you?" She went back to where she'd been, and after Cassie left, missed her next shot completely.
