You're giving good advice, I will keep them in mind. ^^ I've been very badly sick only as little kid (fortunately, *knocking wood*) but for some reason I don't like meds. I usually suffer my headache unless it's really bad and I need to go somewhere, I just have a feeling taking meds won't do good and I don't like them. I've never had any bad thing because of them but still I have created these thoughts.

Anyway, listen to Nattie people. :)

^I'm the same way, unless I *need* to take meds, I don't. Even tylenol.

Good Post!! Antibiotics are way overused & people shouldn't be relying on them as much as they are. Overuse is the reason we see all these Superbugs in hostpitals. the bacteria have been exposed to antibiotics for so long that they've adapted to resist them. That and most infections don't need antibiotics anyways.

antibiotics are useful for things our immune system just cannot handle. the problem is we've grossly underestimated what prevention, good diet, exercise and our own immune systems can actually do.

i always hit up a heavy regimen of rest, water, garlic, vitamin c, spicy foods (really good for the circulation and decongestion - although if you get indigestion it can be tricky) when i'm sick and even if it doesn't cure you right away you get better much much faster. i also recoil from sugars and caffiene when i'm sick even though i've got quite the sweet tooth.

all good advice Nat.

Hey did you see my post about the Jeremy Narby interview? you should check it out. ;)

OMG I took antibiotics to help prevent an infection after my hysteroscopy and instead it gave me a yeast infection for 2 weeks. The doctor told me this might happen but I don't get it. lol it sucked SO bad!!

Totally - try the alternatives first, and whenever you can, and anti-biotics next - and then if you do have to take them, take the *full run* or else you're leaving behind resistant bacteria!
