CHARACTER(S): willturntides, accusedjonah & Anyone who wants to learn how to use these darn guns! (WARNING: Young people may or may not be taught depending on maturity level and age!)
SUMMARY: Singular purpose discovered therein, Tom volunteers himself and his shipmate Hollom to teach people how to use these guns. These ain't your mama's guns.

These guns were so... cooooooool. And old. Jade was certainly used to the new automatic kinds of rifles she had at home, but these were just a little bit different. Though, nothing she couldn't figure out.

She examined one, checking where the bullets were inserted and where to insert the powder. Yep, this was going to be a brand new and exciting experience! Jade picked up a rifle and experimentally aimed it towards the woods, pointing it at a rather large tree.

"Bang!" She mimed shooting the gun. If nothing else, it was easy enough to handle. "Well, at least the weight seems pretty good."

"Ma'am." Horatio Hornblower touched his hat, bowing his head as he approached. A woman with a rifle was an unsettling sight, but this was a peculiar setting.

"May I offer my assistance? Horatio Hornblower, ma'am."

Jade giggled at his approach. "I'm no "m'am". Just Jade is fine!" But she smiled and outstretched the rifle towards him. "I've never used such an old rifle before. My grandpa only had automatics, so I'm kinda confused about how to load it."

"Miss Jade, then." It sounded painfully informal to his ears, but he would not offend the girl. Though he might have frowned at hearing the rifle called old. It looked brand new to him

Jade watches and listens closely. It's quite a bit different than the automatic rifles she grew up with, but definitely not that complicated once he explained it to her. In fact, it seemed pretty cool!

She nodded as she took the gun from him, easily holding it in the proper position, at least that part was mostly the same. "Okay, here it goes!"

She fires and hits the tree, bullseye. The recoil is stronger than what she's used to and she stumbles slightly, but manages to keep her grip on the gun.

"Hehehe, not bad!"
