I leave in a week. I probably won't communicate with most of you after that for close to two years. Or maybe I will sooner, since Macedonia is pretty well-connected, after all. But still. My entire life is going to change drastically in one week, and I'm really having a hard time thinking about anything except that. So you'll have to pardon me

hey Erin it's not so bad, and we're staying here overnight in the big city of Almaty. we're going to get drunk since none of us have had more than one beer and we're staying in an apartment with 22 people with three rooms. it'll be awesome. training is total madness, we're busy and all booked up, we have to schedule calling someone in another village, but it's all good, and in two months it's time for swearing in when we'll be official Volunteers. life isn't too bad at all :)

That's what I hear....total madness. I'm so excited about this! Really, every single moment this is on my mind, with the whole week slowly working toward Friday. Just think...pretty soon we'll both be crazy volunteers working in our respective corners of the world. Maybe I'll come visit you in Kazakhstan! (Since it sounds like travel is cheaper when you stay with other volunteers....)

There's always a much higher chance of dying in the car on the way to their airport. You will make it to Macedonia and you're going to affect the course of your life forever for the positive by taking a chance. : ) I'm so proud of you! I still have your address and I'll write you soon so that it'll get there in a reasonable amount of time.

With terrorism....at least you aren't blond haired, green eyed, rosy cheeked and could actually pass for something outside of American/Western European. I was SO different looking even in central Europe-Prague, Slovenia!
I can't wait to hear your stories!!!!!!

Thanks Bobbi! Everyone keeps telling me that flying a plane is totally safe and stuff. I don't really think anything is going to happen, but it's one of those things I just keep wondering about, as I've never made this trip before and whatnot. I'll feel much better when I'm all settled in Veles!

You are so awesome for writing! Just think...our friendship will reach new levels! I will let you know when I get a phone number. Truly Bobbi, you are just so cool and I'm so glad I know you! Good luck up at Steven's Point (haha, I totally spelled that Stephen's just now...I'm still a little confused....)! I'll talk to you soon(ish)!
