i hate being bisexual. i hate it. i feel inadequate as a straight person, and inadequate as a dyke. i want so badly to be one or the other. but the simple fact keeps on reappearing. i am attracted to women, nd enjoy sex with them. i am attracted to men, and enjoy sex with them. i would prefer to be one or the other, either one really. but i like ( Read more... )

You may not think that I understand you on this point, but trust me, it's not too uncommon in the queer community to have this quip. The world expects you to fall into a roll that doesn't quite fit. You have a vastly greater capacity for human expression than can fit the outlet that our paradoxically binary society has provided ( ... )

I've also found it difficult because neither "group" completely accepts you. Everyone is waiting for you to settle down and, yes, fit into a binary (how I hate that word!) system. So, give everyone the finger, and be with whomever you want.

I understand where you are coming from. I really do. I know the feeling of not quite fitting in either group, though in a little different way than you (because I'm NOT YOU!). In my case, I appear quite "girly" but I am assertive and can be abrasive. I'm a lesbian (as you know), but people tell me I "don't look like a lesbian." It can be awkward in groups of straight people...but can also be awkward in groups of queer people. In mixed crowds, people get really confused as to my "place" in the group. Mix that with living in a conservative part of the US and things can be complicated ( ... )
