R.I.P. Boo

Last week one of my two cats, Boo, started to get sick. One of her eyes was a little red and she had a little bit of discharge comeing from her eyes, nothing that major, looked like a minor eye irritation, she had had it before. You sure they said FIP and not FIV? (which is the feline equivelant of HIV)

FIP is: Feline Infectious Pertonitis is caused by a virus. Cats that show signs of infection almost always die from it. Symptoms include: enlarged abdomen, fever, weight loss and possibly eye lesions. A vaccine is available for this virus.

Either way, your other cat should get vaccinated and tested.

FIP, a vaccine wouldn't really help if shes already infected, and if shes not already infected im not worried about it since i cleaned the stuff it could spread on already. As far as tests according to the doctors the test for FIP isn't very accurate and gives allot of false positives and negatives. Plus its expensive, and since there is nothing that can been done about it even if she does have it, not really worth it to me. If she got sick i would have her tested to see if that is it just to know if i should bother trying other treatment.

I would like to think that would work, but unfortunatly i am not home like 60% of the time and another 30% of the time I am home but sleeping.
