Video Games

I find myself the newest owner of a Wii, and it has inspired all sorts of old feelings of childlike excitement. The reason being, the first game I played on it was an emulation of Excite Bike from the original NES; truth be told, in general, a bad game, but one I remember loving from my childhood. There is something amazingly fulfilling about basic ( Read more... )

Great game.... yes...

I am in pretty much complete agreement with your top ten. I'd strike RE4 and replace it with Super Mario World. And isn't "Zelda" a bit of a generalization? Though I hear a lot of people put Ocarina in their #1 slot....

I would like to say "Resident Evil" in the spot of just number 4, but since concensus is that number 4 is the best, I chose to use that as the focal point. Also, if magazine ratings mean anything, it was the highest rated game in history amongst the video game tabloids.

And when I say Zelda, I mean, ZELDA. Never played Ocarnia, but I did play 1, 2, and 3 - and there is nothing like the original.

What about A Link to the Past?

On the Super Nintendo? When I saw that rain in the beginning it changed my fucking life when it comes to video games. That moment, and the moment I first played (original!) Legend of Zelda are #1, man.

There are a lot of good Zelda games.... but there will be only one original Zelda, it was litterally the first video game I ever played in my entire life.

I still remember turning on my first NES on my 5th Christmas, the gold cartridge was beautiful.... I played that game so much for so long that the gold started to bake, and thus flake off revealing a black core... =) *meeeemmmmorriesss*

I owned that game, and I mean far beyond the premise of possessing a copy; 213% completed, my best score - and the best score ever acomplished by any one I have ever met. I read about someone getting 219% - but I call BS till I see it myself...

Final Fantasy 3/6 remains my favorite FF. While I liked the others in varying degrees, there was something about the focus on the story rather than the shiny new graphics breaking away from the sprites that really got its hooks into me. The story, the characters, the oft-times losing battle that felt desperate and deadly even despite the goofy humor that was sprinkled throughout ( ... )
