you've had absinthe? I'm so curious, and I've heard a good deal about it, but I wouldn't even begin to know where to find it..or know that I'd be brave enough to actually ingest it.
i still have half a bottle, alot of what you hear about it is totally fabricated...good absinthe is a brilliant green and turns opaque when water is added(is called louche-ing) before there were regulations on alcohol cheap absinthe makes would use copper and lead salts to get the desired color and would add the equivalent of antifreeze to get it to louche...thats where all the stories of it causing damage and madness stem from....good quality absinthe is just as safe to drink as good scotch...and about as strong...
catch me at a gathering and i'll let you sample a bit of spanish La-Ferte...
but i hope you like the flavor of anise(black liquorice)
How are you? I have not heard from you in some time, though I know you rarely have time to correspond. Watchmakers are kept busy in these days.
Your Uncle forwarded the list of your ten things, which I must admit were fascinating. In turn, I sent a list of such of mine, though I was forced to avoid listing so many of the things we did together when at the academy. Using the dumb-waiters to sneak around, and our exploits at the library, and.....but I wax nostalgic.
I have recently recieved a rather formal Vicars Longcoat which fits me perfectly. I look forward to having a chance to wear it at the upcoming masquerade ball. I have enclosed a few small silver prints of it for your enjoyment

It has been many a year since we ran amok at University together...and I agree our exploits are best reserved for a more intimate audience. Ah, for the giddy days of our youth....I wonder if you have heard anything of that talented botanist we knew?
Lovely CDVs of your new coat...the style suits you well.
I look forward to consulting on the restoration of your latest aquisition and shall make time to pay a call upon you and your charming wife(as well as my dear godson).
I have reserved in my cabinet a fine bottle of pear-brandy to accompany our next chess game.
