People were telling the truth and at least Alcuin and Owen and Ianto were affected, that Daniel knew. And Ianto, at least, had argued with Jack. Had told him...had told him things Daniel didn't want to think about

Jack wasn't hard to find. He'd gotten out of bed to pee and couldn't quite make it back. The chair on the porch was as good a place as any, and he'd settled in. The half shell on the table was full of ashes and ends, and he was currently smoking yet another in a long string of joints.

No honesty, not even with himself. Not with House. About the only true thing he'd said since he'd begun was telling Padfoot he didn't want to play with him. Even that wasn't exactly true. It wasn't that he didn't want to...he just couldn't lift his arm high enough to throw anything for the dog.

"Hello, Jack," Daniel said, taking the joint out of Jack's hand and taking a hit from it. It was the first time he'd had any of the island pot. First time he'd had a hit in longer than he could really remember. He held the smoke in his lungs as he held the joint out for Jack to take back.

He just wanted this weekend to be over.

He was preoccupied with looking at his suddenly empty hold, fingers pressed together like there should be something there. Thoughts got stuck and thoughts flashed and were gone in the supified haze that his mind had become.

He finally managed to look up and struggled to focus on who was talking to him.

"I know you," he said, each word slow and drawn out as he worked to talk.

"You know me," Daniel replied softly. And then, so Jack wouldn't wonder, "I'm not on whatever's wrong with the island. Whatever's wrong with Ianto. That's not happening to me." He continued to hold the joint out for Jack. "Besides. You already know everything I'd tell you."

He'd told Jack he loved him. That was his big secret and it had already been told.
