He hadn't slept well. Hadn't slept well at all since he'd talk to Jack. He'd tossed. Turned. Stared at a book he couldn't process. He stayed in bed until the sun was already well into the sky. Finally, he got up and changed into his jogging gear. Sneakers, shorts, shirt tucked into the shorts. Nothing was on his chest but his dog tags. He ( Read more... )

Owen was lounging on the beach when he heard a scream. And so, naturally, he ran towards it. With his luck, someone found a dead body or had been nearly eaten by a shark or something. But, no. It was just Daniel, standing there against a boulder looking like the world was about to end.

It took Daniel a minute to focus on Owen. He hadn't been expecting anyone ot be in the area and definitely not someone he knew. But there was Owen asking what was wrong. "Bad day," he said, staring off at the ocean, rather than at Owen.

"Fine. Whatever," he said dismissively before turning to walk away. He wasn't going to ask the same question twice.

"Don't go." Daniel said the words softly, but there was a desperate edge to them, and he stood up, taking a few steps toward Owen. "Please don't go, Owen." He kept walking until he was right there and he reached a hand out to touch Owen's shoulder.

"I had a fight with Jack." He shrugged a little. He'd had a fight with Vala, too, but he knew that she'd talk to him again. He couldn't be at all positive about that with Jack. "I let him get to me."
