Morgan acting like a high school cheerleader was bad enough. But then she'd hit on him and he'd had to be rescued by Tim. Luckily, there had been a Tim to rescue him, otherwise Daniel wasn't entirely sure what he would have done. "Daniel? Sure thing," Jack called through the barely opened door. "Come on in."

"Oh, thank god. I need somewhere to hide. Morgan's been acting like one of those cheerleaders in...well, did you have cheerleaders wherever you went to school?" Daniel pushed the door all the way open and headed inside. "Anyway, she's been hitting on me and I need somewhere to hide."

Jack was sitting at the table, reading quietly. Machiavelli had such brilliant ideas. He'd combed his hair until it was parted and sleek and stayed that way. He hadn't taken the glasses off since he'd gotten them. Looking up, he gave Daniel a disapproving glare.

"Morgan is a fine woman and would do well to be a little less haughty and more available to a man like you. If I wasn't a confirmed bachelor, I'd marry her," he said. "Since I can't, you should really consider it, Daniel. If not Morgan, then...say! What about Vala? You could save her from the wicked fate of having a child out of wedlock!"

Now that was a brilliant idea.

Daniel just stood in the doorway and stared. The hair and the glasses and...as attractive as Daniel found it, it wasn't his libido that noticed first. It was the sinking feeling in his stomach. Oh hell. Jack had been whatevered just like Morgan had.

Curse words in a dozen different languages flickered through his head as he cataloged the differences in the man in front of him than in the man he knew. Even when John had been on the island, the change hadn't been so abrupt.

"What about Vala? Is it still out of wedlock if she's not my child? And...bachelor? What about Logan? I thought you two were pretty happy together."
