After two days and scouring the bookshelf for recipe books that contained things they could actually make on the island, the reality had finally sunk in that Daniel had a date. A real date, something he hadn't had in months. It was over a year, come to think of it. Around March of last year with Alcuin since things with Mohinder and then Owen ( Read more... )

It had occurred to Patrick, somewhere at the end of day one as he carted off tea supplies to his hut, that he had a date. He ... had a date. He, Patrick Jane, leery of all personal interaction beyond friendship, and it was casual at that, had a date. With a man, and he hadn't had one of those in, god, fifteen years. Give or take. To his utter amusement, his first worry was, 'And I don't have any furniture ( ... )

"My Evil Twin, naturally, won." He said, with an equally solemn face, although the corners of his mouth turned. He took the bag from him, and said, "Ooooh, present."

He stepped aside, to let Daniel in, as he peered into the bag. "I see food, and I see a rock." He looked up at Daniel, blue eyes glinting. "Did you give me a rock? No one's ever given me a rock before. It is in fact, quite a shiny rock."

"Well, if you want the apparent shiny rock." Daniel made a beeline for the table and put his own back down. "But my suggestion is that you don't touch the rock for a little while unless you want to burn something that might be important later." He gave Patrick an amused look. "I figured you didn't want cold food. At least not when it's supposed to be served hot."

"And no evil twins. I've actually met mine." They weren't exactly evil, but they were definitely morally ambiguous.
