He'd told Ianto that he wouldn't be gone more than a day. At the very worst he'd be gone the night. They'd had words about it and he really didn't want to remember the argument, so he lost himself in his work. Jack had taken a few wrong turns, but eventually his footsteps ground against the grit and stone as he walked up behind Daniel. He wasn't surprised, much. A little relieved he wasn't dead. A little curious about how he'd been here for so long and it seemed like he hadn't even finished a cup of coffee.

"Daniel," he said flatly, shifting the rifle on his shoulder and arcing the beam of the flashlight across what the man was looking at.

Daniel recognized the voice, so he didn't even bother to look up. "Hi, Jack. Decide to come see what I'm up to? I've translated some of this, but this particular section has been giving me a hard time." He pressed his hand to a part of the wall.

"This right here talks about the man and woman who was buried here." He trailed off as he noticed something else and scribbled a note down.

Jack watched him, utterly disinterested in the translation. "You need to come back with me."

"What's up?" Daniel asked, not really paying attention to what Jack was saying. He was still puzzling over the translation of a sequence of words. Was that 'wife of the lord' or 'wife of the sovereign'?
