Little A/N first: Sorry this took so long. I've been working on Nano and that kind of took up all my headspace. And then this story got jossed hardcore by 3.05 and I lost my momentum for a bit. But finally, here is the conclusion to our little story. This takes place the morning after Prom, directly after the events in

Oh, I love this:

'I need to be sure,' he thinks. 'Sure that you love me, sure that I matter as much to you as you do to me.' But he doesn’t say it. Because Blaine is many things, but he’s a people-pleaser. Kurt doesn’t know if he could stand to have Blaine say it, tell him he loves him, if he wasn’t sure it was the truth. It’s dumb, but Kurt knows, he needs to hear Blaine say it first. However long it takes, he can wait.

This is the perfect explanation for why Kurt doesn't say it for a long time, when you know he is thinking it all the time, and instead he says, "I'll never say goodbye to you" and "They can't touch us."

And silly Blaine, he probably doesn't even think about it. He probably thinks he's said it a million times.

I just love how Kurt realizes here that it's not Blaine that's the problem here - it's the emotions and the fear and the too-muchness - and that he can still find solace in Blaine and what they have.

This whole story was lovely and heated and very sexy, but so achingly sweet! It totally drew me in and wouldn't let me stop until I'd finished the whole thing! This is actually really good headcanon because I like to think that our boys didn't just jump right into sex the first time. Everything abut them is slow and gradual, and it only makes sense that their physical relationship would develop the same way. It blends very nicely into canon. :0)

Kurt closes his eyes. Through their tangled fingers, pressed between their chests, he can feel Blaine’s heartbeat, hard and strong. He wonders how it is that this feels closer than what they’d done before.

It can be so hard to understand emotional intimacy when all your body wants is to touch.....I really loved how you wrote this. Kurt is so much more insecure in this story than many others, and it would be really easy for that to fall away when they finally get together like this, but it wouldn't be consistent.

So THANK YOU! This was just beautiful, and as usual, your FEELINGS make me feel FEELINGS. =)

Exactly. This entire verse really deals with that in a way I WISH canon had......but oh well, I REALLY enjoy this!!

I kind of feel like this could be canon. If they didn't consider what happened in chapter five to be their "first time," because it didn't involve penetration or something. So this happened, after prom, and they made a pact not to go too far until they were both sure they were ready, which lead to the scene in 3x05 where Kurt asks if they're boring because they don't touch below the waist, and Blaine says "I thought that was what... we wanted," and then "I just want you to be comfortable, so I can be comfortable." It makes an interesting kind of sense that they would have gotten scared off from going further by actually going too far one time.

I also love how Kurt is determined not to say "I love you" first, because he wants to be sure Blaine means it. I could see that happening.

...the only thing that matters will be this. The knowledge that no one can ruin what he has with this beautiful boy. Not even them...
