Taiwei trudged along the snow back to Loki Court after a morning walk. The campus was almost dishearteningly quiet, but he liked it this way. Lingling exited Freya, thinking she would go visit Naoko. She made her way down the path to Eir a few steps before she spotted Taiwei.

Stopping still in her tracks, she watched Taiwei walk slowly, her lips curling into a frown as she remembered the way he had turned his back on her and left her again. However, as her eyes flitted over his features and took in the band-aid, scratches, and bruises, her fingers uncurled from the fists they made.

Her frown was now one of worry instead of anger, and she all but ran to catch up to where Taiwei was. When she was behind him, she reached out to touch him but retracted her hand at the last moment, not wanting even the possibility to be rejected like that. Instead, now that she was close enough to be heard now, she asked, "Are you all right?"

He looked out of it, too, she noted, and that was even more worrying as that was abnormal for him.

He turned his head immediately when he heard her voice. How had he not noticed someone walking behind him? Even looking at her now was more difficult than before, he realized.

He blinked at her question. "I am," he replied, as if to say why wouldn't I be?

Her frown didn't leave. "Then why don't you look it?" She gestured to his scratches and band-aid. "Both on the outside and... in..." Lingling trailed off, wincing just ever so slightly because she realized just how cheesy that sounded.

He looked off to the side. It was harder to act normal. "This is from a spar," he said, pointing to his own face. He didn't address the other bit he heard.
