Its a noble cause to 'keep it free' but when things come down to it society will most likely austracize cyborgs until they become the social norm.. people are going to behave like people.

Unrelated, but sometimes I get the same feeling from NASA workers and supporters. I often hear how 'space should be free' and keep out goverment and coporate influences.. but how long will that last? How long will a mars base be established before the colonists deside to say the hell with NASA and the USA goverment and form their own government. How long will it be before some precious material is found on the moon and corporations find they can make money from mining it?

ps. VnV Nation rocks!

We are all cyborgs. Shoes, glasses, computers, cell phones, pedometers, latex, cigarettes, caffeine, viagra, pacemakers, alarm clocks, TV, gas/electric hybrids that do everything except pluck your ass hair. There's nothing to ostracize. I don't want to keep the physical free, though I believe we should be a little more evolved with our resources.

The future is behind us.

agreed.

hell if you want to see a cyborg.. look at my grandparents. Both in their early 80's and have way too much money.

All have new knees, stints, shunts, repairs, cancers cut out from every place immaginable.. grandma doesnt have breasts anymore (from cancer), brain anurisms mapped, meds to keep the blood sugar in check, lipids, heart pumping..
