Probably orders of magnitude more complex than what we would describe as consciousness. It's difficult enough to consider a conciousness spanning thousands of years, with all the memories and experiences accrued. Can you imagine a conciousness spanning billions?
And, if it exists outside of the physical universe? Could we even describe a conciousness spanning outside of this universe's time as well? Is that even a "being" in the classical sense?
My hypothesis is that our universe is geared to eventually order itself into super-conciousness such as what I described, and then to reproduce itself as a new universe, within it's own "time".
