(no subject)
Over the last day or two about half the tadpoles have suddenly grown front legs! They look at lot more like frogs now, rather than just vaguely frog-reminiscent blobs with no arms.
I'll try and get some better pictures when I change the water on Saturday (I have no idea how twelve tadpoles can manage to foul the water almost as fast as five hundred) and I will also remodel the tank to have some sort of land area as it's about this time that the tadpoles change over from gills to lungs. They certainly do seem to be coming up to the surface a lot. In the meantime, as you can see, I've stuck a ruler in there which sticks out above the surface. I haven't seen any of them try to sit on it yet.
Can you imagine growing a pair of arms in the course of just one day? Seriously how fucking cool is nature?
