I was crying like a baby. Totally true. Tears on my bed and a stuffed up nose because Cas actually killed Dean and it was terrible and beautiful and tragic and I cried. Damnit.
And I know this is gonna sound lame (now that I've made it through the chapter) but I'd thought to myself sometime during part 1 that perhaps Cas would be able to keep Dean's soul from moving on, that maybe he'd hang onto it, etc etc. I spoiled it for myself! Damnit again.
Oooooh, and "You're like the thing that wouldn't shut up" is totally a line from Disney's The Emperor's New Groove! My son used to watch that movie daily. :)
Also, wanted to say that this description of Cas - he just doesn't get it, while at the same time he totally does get it, more than anyone else - made me stop and think "huh... wow, that is incredibly succinct and incredibly accurate." That's TOTALLY Castiel. Totally oblivious to most of our silly human trivialities but SO old and wise and vast and powerful at the same time. Awesome.
his spine is bending, cracking, bone splintering under the crush of duty and devotion and Dean. This is LOVELY.
I definitely didn't see the "body sharing" trap coming -- !!! -- but I'm glad there's at least some hope that we'll get Dean back into his mighty fine, Dean-shaped form before the story ends... : )
"When his soul departed his body, it followed the most familiar light it knew." Castiel's eyes cut to the side, where Chuck is open-mouthed and Dean is simply an empty cage. "I can feel him."
*cries* tried very hard not to but I did... you're awesome and I am gonna go read the next part RIGHT. THE HELL. NOW. before my tear ducts complain from overuse.

I'm actually on the edge of my seat and I'm so happy that I don't have to wait for the last chapter because it's already there!
