Ever listen to Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue? If you haven't (or even if you have!) You'll have to watch the "Fantasia 2000" animation that uses it. I have plenty of other good stuff for you if you'd like. :)

The only problem with the Fantasia 2000 performance is that it uses the boring version of the opening - the clarinetist plays a chromatic scale instead of a huge gliss! I recommend the André Previn recording.

Agreed about the boring clarinet entry, but if that's the *only* complaint you have about the entire animation, I'd say it was a rousing success. :)

Another good one to get you started is Barber's "Adagio for Strings." It is one of the most visceral and moving pieces that I've ever listened to/played...although, I'll admit, it doesn't lend itself to daydreaming about nice weather! But, an absolute masterpiece nonetheless.
