NYC days 24 & 25
So! I bet none of you can guess what I did today on the way home from work. :D Guess and then read the rest to find out!
bought shorts!
yeah. I wanted shorts, and I had a random coupon for old navy. So I went by after work (since an Old Nay is right where I get off the metro) and found some shorts I could stand that were ok in terms of price and stuff. It was still a bit of an ordeal, since ever other pair was a size 4 or 2 x__X. I had to excavate for some that were a normal size. But yeah, that was the astounding thing I did today.
Otherwise, Monday was fun but filled with work (the good kind though). After work a bunch of the interns were going to Brant park to watch movies on the lawn, and the organizer of our group wanted people to go early to "stake a claim on a spot". I thought she was being paranoid, but wanted to get out of work early so me and another girl went together. Man. I have never seen a group of people more serous to get a spot in a park. O.o We got there at 4:50 and people had FILLED the sides and edges of the park. Every one was moving back and forth, restlessly shaking out blankets. Then at 4:58 a woman on a loud speaker got on to say "We now invite you to enjoy HBO's Movies in the park", which was apparently the sign that everyone could now go in to the park and lay out blankets. Well, the voice barely finished the word "invite" and people were RUNNING across the grass to get a good center spot! So.... we ran too! The majority of people were in their spot by 4:59. We actually ended up getting pretty good spots, and when the rest of the group arrived the same woman who had sent us early sad "oo! nice spot guys. Huh, it must be less crowded today, since usually it is blanket-to-blanket out here." I kind of want to go again, but this time to watch the people run. The other intern and I dubbed the whole process "the running of the blankets" lol Only other exciting thing for monday was that I got my first pay check! woooooooo!!!! ^.^
As for tuesday, work was filled with more of the same... work. :P Monday I decided to venture up the street to a new deli and I am VERY in love with it. I have now gotten my lunch for under $5 for two days in a row. Lots of love for this places prices, and they have a lot of different kinds of food to. I only mention this because I got Sushi form them today, and it was good. After work, I got the shorts and came home. I have been relaxing ever since. I decided tonight would be one of the few nights I don't bring work home with me.
Is it just me or does this week seem to b e going faster than normal? Hm it might be because my work week really will end early on thursday this week. The office closes at 1 on thursday and then we are closed on friday. I will have to come up with something to do. Hope all of my Flist people are doing well! *waves and hearts for you all*
