A new Home

I let the journal die....again.... I'm a bad person. ^.^0

But in other news, I have moved to New York!

I applied for a job in a media agency in early February, and then they hired me towards the end of february to start on March 1st. So I had two weeks to find an apartment, move, and settle in. So.... I did. ^.^0

It was crazy, and I am really only realizing how crazy now. One would think it wouldn't take someone 2 and a half months to figure that kind of thing out, but there is a good reason for that. As soon as I started the job (Jr. Marketing Designer if you wanted to know the title of it) it came to light that I was working with only one other senior designer  and she was pregnant and about to go out on maternity leave. Between A TON of work* and learning the corprate ins-and-outs, I was trying  to figure out how I was going to run my part of the department by myself.

The good news is that last week was the first week where I was working on my own, and I did alright. It was a tough week but I managed it. Also my boss had her baby! A little baby girl named Sofia. So all is well.

So life has been a bit intense. In between recovering from work, I have been exploring the city some. So far my adventures have included:

Seeing Bansky's "Exit Through The Gift Shop" film (it's great and anyone interested in street art or likes cool art things should go see it. ), Visiting Shepard Fairey's pop up shop (pics of that adventure on fb), Going to the Ninja Restaurant (I keep forgetting to put those photos up on fb, but I will soon), General weekend hang outs exploring midtwon and finding fun stuff.

Over all, I have been making the best of the move. It is still a little surreal being on my own though.

*The company I work with has some retail outlets so their fiscal year starts after February. This means lots of new items to start. And they have a lot of conferences, which require a ton of items, in the beginning of the year.

cool things, life stuff, nyc adventures, work
