This post is going to be long. Which is an issue I'll get to in a second.

Thing the First: Happy Birthday, Anna! Hope you have an awesome day. And I hope I get to see you again in 2008!

Thing the Second: So Atonement (the movie) is coming out. And I don't know if it's going to be good or not, but I did want to say that if at all possible you ( Read more... )

Such a great tree story. How are things going...party planning and organizing wise?

Love the picture of Grace.

Things are going okay... I am planning on making this coming weekend cleaning and prep weekend so that the actual party weekend will be less crazy. I also need to get my act together on the online invitation... sigh.

Oh... that makes me sad. I like to read your journal - it keeps me up to date with what's going on with you. Of course, I know this is not a reciprocal relationship as I do not ever update my journal - except maybe once a year - so who am I to complain? But it does make me sad. :(

It makes me a bit sad too... I just need to think about why I have a journal and what I want to use it for... etc. I don't think I'm done completely...

Yeah, maybe. Kind of. It's worth it though. It's a really really thoughtful gripping book.

It's been great to travel along with you for as long as we've had, Hilsy. I hope that you pop back every once in a while with an update or a rec or one of your 10 Best lists or something very you like that.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a spectacular New Year with many league championships (except in football which is clearly going to belong to the Pats [Go, Pats!]) and wacky adventures of all sorts. Plus some romance would be good.

Anyway. (Heh, I just had to throw that in.)

I'm going to miss you around here.

I'm definitely not disappearing... I just meant that I don't think LJ will be my primary online writing (if I decide to continue doing that at all). But I'll be reading... always. I'm not letting you all go that easily.

Oh, Christmas tree farm delightfulness! We did our tree from a farm last year and it was so nice, tramping around and picking a tree with character. This year we ended up going to the Forestry students' fundraiser sale, because we're not putting a lot of effort into the tree this year (Michi is too little and adventurous, I wanted to do, like, a learning tree, so if he decides to climb it and knocks the whole thing over, it's not very big anyway and also all of my precious glass ornaments are still safely tucked away in their boxes). I think a Christmas tree farm experience is lovely and everyone should get to do it.

I am intrigued by the hair-drying. Maybe I should invest in a better dryer, since I've had mine since high school and I think they really have made advances. I should definitely avoid walking around with a wet head as much as I do, at least, since it's sure to make me sick.

If you go, I will miss you!

It really was fun walking through the field (helpfully located here by Bob), even in the rain...

I never bought-in to believing wet hair made me more likely to get sick (I did it to the point of freezing for many, many winters, and I don't get sick much), but... I will say I think my hair looks better. Objectively. Which is nice. So few things I'm sure of these days...

And I'm not going going. Just... mulling over how/if I want an online journal anymore.

Oh WOW! That is RIGHT by my grandfather's old farm! If I had the patience or time to figure out how to pinpoint stuff like Bob did, I'd show you!
