Why are "join the Peace Corp" and "Stay in the United States as a self-indulgent fuck up" the only options?

p.s. I've found it's never a good idea to plan one's life in 3rd person. It requires too much focus on what outsiders think. Focus on your own self-image, capacity, needs, wants.

Despite your "I'm you" mantra, the majority of the "you's" on the planet aren't going to be able to plan your life in a way that's most fitting to you. I mean, you do hate being bossed around.....

in moments when im feeling scared and weak and i dont know the right way to go, i love being bossed around. its like being a baby in the dark and all you want is your mommy. submissive to someone who will carry you over the river and through the woods, into the light.
