Heros

Dec 10, 2012 21:07

Okay, looking for some input and info here. I'm doing a short story involving legendary heros (myth, biblical, historical... you name it), just need some names thrown at me maybe a brief tidbit on their actual origin or heroic deeds... Thanks guys!

Not at all, I hadn't thought of Hanuman. It'd be a great idea to include him! *wink* He's one of my favorites too. So thanks a lot!

From Greek mythology: Hercules ;), Theseus-the one who conquered the labyrinth and minotaur, Achilles-indestructible except for his heel
Chinese: Mulan - she is in fact a historical character in Chinese mythology

ummmm not to get too geeky here: Captain America? (fictional but you did say anything XD)

I might be able to work Captain America in ... we'll see, have to be careful how I do it but I think it's possible. Mulan is a really good one. Thought of Hercules.. not Theseua or Achilles though... any more women that you can think of that aren't DC or Marvel? Just have to be a bit careful about the copyright issue. And thanks a ton for your imput.

Not off the top of my head, but here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_women_warriors_in_folklore
Some of these are really really good. Hippolyta-queen of the amazons, Joan of Arc, Izpapalotl- Aztec, skeleton warrior goddess, etc. The list is rather fascinating...

You're welcome! Glad to see you back.
