CHARACTER INFORMATION-
Canon Character and Series: Sajin Komamura from Bleach
In-Game Name: Major Sajin Komamura
Age: 33 34
Gender: Male
Position & Ship: The Victoria II The Amestris as a Boatswain

Appearance:
Komamura is an over 9’ tall demi-human. Befitting his size he is also quite muscular. He identifies himself as a wolf, but because of his orange-brown color most people who see him will probably take him for a fox or dog instead. As stated, his primary fur color is orange-brown but his underfur (around his mouth, neck, and chest) is a lighter tan shade. He has very feral looking golden eyes. We’re going to assume that he has a tail.

He generally wears the Ivonian military uniform, along with proper signifiers of rank. Aside from that he prefers comfortable, loose clothing.

Personality:
If pressed, Komamura would tell you that his cardinal attribute is loyalty. He takes bonds of trust and friendship very seriously, and has been known to align himself with the cause or ideologies of people he respects. At least so long as they do not conflict with his own morals.

On that note, Komamura has a concern with justice, but this is equally balanced out by a concern with benevolence. He believes in punishment for the wrongdoers, but he also believes in mercy.

He appears very stoic, never smiling but not quite scowling either. If anything he wears an almost indifferent look on his face. This reflects his personality well for the most part; he is not given to displays of emotion. Even so he has a definite concern for other people, his comrades in particular. As a leader he is neither cruel nor especially doting, taking instead a more impartial approach. Although he does have a tendency to take on more of other people’s burdens than might be healthy (usually without telling them). Anyone who knows him well enough would likely describe him as “gentle” more so than cold or stoic. In line with that, he has a fondness for animals.

Regarding his appearance; he is somewhat self-conscious and once wore a mask whenever dealing with humans. He spent most of his life as an outcast from human society and never completely adjusted. Even now he can be rather self-deprecating, but he does not seem to let this affect his actions, or even his attitude for the most part.

While he might seem like someone who would adhere implicitly to rules and tradition, he has been known to overlook such protocol on sensible occasions, suggesting that he actually follows some higher moral code. Or perhaps he simply values common sense above convention. Either case would seem to lead to the same result.

In combat situations his demeanor shifts completely. He almost has two states here. On one hand he can be cold and ruthless. He does not toy with his opponents or draw fights out, preferring to deal with them quickly and efficiently even if this means bringing the brunt of his power against someone who might not approach his skill level. All that matters to him is that he ends things and ends them quickly. On the other hand, combat is the only time he ever allows himself to be emotional-and this emotion is more often than not anger. If he is not fighting with detached and calculated severity, then he is doing so with extreme prejudice. The latter seems to be caused from personal reasons more so than anything, as if he allows any latent anger he might be suppressing normally to come out during a fight.

Abilities/Weapons:
As a shinigami Komamura has innate spiritual powers. He can sense and see spirits, as well as harness his own spiritual energy and utilize flash steps.

He wields a zanpakuto by the name of Tenken (Divine Retribution/Heavenly Punishment). When released with the command “Roar,” he can summon the individual pieces of a gigantic suit of armor to mimic his movements, such as slashing with a sword or delivering a punch. His bankai is called Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō and brings forth the entire giant, standing at roughly twice his size. The giant still mimics his motions, but he seems to be able to manipulate it (to a degree, at least) without moving as well. The giant has incredible offensive and defensive capabilities, however any damage done to it is reflected on Komamura’s own body. Even so, the giant is rather resistant to damage (canon-wise it is unaffected by a cero blast at pointblank range) so actually harming it is still a difficult task.

Aside from his spiritual powers, Komamura is a master swordsman and possesses incredible strength and endurance, even more so than his size would suggest. He is also fairly intelligent although unskilled at using magic beyond the abilities of his zanpakuto.

And despite his size he is a master of concealing his presence, both spiritual and physical. This ability was likely developed as a result of his living as an outcast for so long.

Lastly he is capable of communicating with (at least some) animals.

How well can your character hack?:
He can’t.

Weaknesses:
His zanpakuto powers are something of a risk to use, as any damage that the giant takes is instantly reflected on his body as well. It is unclear if this rule applies to the shikai state as well, but this is probably a safe assumption. Also as it is difficult to imagine that he would have had many opportunities to activate his bankai, particularly in battle, he is not very skilled in its use.

He can also lose his temper while fighting, changing his normally rational decisions to reckless ones.

Although he is skilled with flash steps, he is not particularly fast otherwise, putting him at a disadvantage when dealing with quick opponents.

Because of his background he was always distrusting of humans. After actually integrating into human society, he seems instead to be ashamed of himself for his appearance. It is not the sort of thing he is going to sit there and brood about, but it is a touchy subject.

Also because of his background his is absolutely inept at technology. That and his size make most human implements (or human anything else for that matter) difficult to use.

In one canon case at least, he seems to value friendship above even his own life, even if that friend betrayed him. This suggests that his loyalty could be a critical flaw.

History:
As a child, Komamura lived a secluded life with his parents in the Badlands. It was a primitive, nomadic existence. They rarely interacted with humans, only for the occasional trading. Until his teen years, the young Komamura had never even seen a city or any kind of human civilization. He learned essential survival skills from his father, but even as a child he had blossoming spiritual abilities that neither of his parents possessed and there was no one to fully explain them. As such he grew comfortable with the thought of spirits, accepting them as simply another part of nature.

Komamura was a teenager when his parents died. It was not a particularly spectacular event. A fever was running through the badlands. It claimed many casualties during its course. Though despondent, Komamura could accept this. His parents had died at peace; at the time it had seemed a natural course of nature. It did not make sense for him to hold a grudge against anything that was natural.

Alone and without anyone to blame for the deaths of his parents, the wolf wandered listlessly across the badlands for months. He did not enjoy interacting with people, demi-human or otherwise, so he became skilled at moving unnoticed whenever he came near badlands encampments or the occasional traveler. This talent never failed him until he came across an Ivonian patrol one day. The leader of the band noticed him almost immediately. This man was none other than Yamamoto, an Ivonian general and possessor of spiritual abilities very similar to Komamura’s. He recognized Komamura’s potential and was able to convince him to join him.

This was largely Komamura’s first interaction with human-beings, he had never been involved whenever his parents used to trade with them. In Yamamoto he found someone that he could talk to, and before the end of the expedition the general managed to persuade him to return with them to Ivona.

The city of Belcius made him uncomfortable. Here he was separated from everything that he had ever known, it might well have been a new world. At first he studied privately at the estate of Yamamoto, rarely venturing out into the human world. He took to his studies surprisingly well, quickly learning reading and writing and progressing to more advanced subjects. At the same time He learned how to use his spiritual abilities from Yamamoto, as well as the basics of combat, which he added to his own experience.

Finally whenever he was old enough, Komamura was enrolled in the military academy. As the adopted son of a general, he received much attention at first. All of this was magnified by his immense size, and the mask that he had taken to wearing in public. That he was not human was obvious, but what exactly he was remained a mystery. And as much as he kept to himself, it stayed a mystery during all of his years at the academy. He graduated at the top of his class (it should be noted that while he excels at traditional subjects, technology eludes him).

At Yamamoto’s suggestion he joined the crew of a military airship. By this time he had traveled on airships before, so this was nothing new. Because of his natural skills and intellect, as well as agreeable demeanor and adherence to the rules, he advanced in rank steadily. In a few short years he managed to become an officer. Since then he has served on multiple ships, transferring every so often via promotion. It was during this period when he finally stopped wearing a mask. This was not a drastic change in his views so much as a decision he made one day and finally was able to act on. As his only real goal is to make his adopted father, the person he respects most, proud, he aspires to become a captain some day.
