Those who look shall find.
Shamelessly stolen from
moralimperative 1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
I went to Rome, and I loved it. I went to Fuertaventura too, didn't like that quite as much (I blame the crazy wind). Oh, and I went to study Business Management which was new.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember if I did. Whatever it was, I'm sure I didn't keep it. I think for this year it shall be:
* Drink more sparkly wine (it's just not done enough)
* Take better care of myself (with everything, spoil myself more!)
* Remind my friends that I love them a little more often
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Try everyone in the office. Almost. Or it felt like it.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not close to me, but many of my loved ones lost people they love and care about. My heart goes out to them all.
5. What countries did you visit?
Italy, England, Wales, Denmark, Spain (Fuertaventura)...that's quite a lot looking at it like that. Italy, Wales and Spain for pleasure. The rest for work (but I don't mind England).
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
I like what I have. Perhaps I'd like a bit more direction in my life. And...I wouldn't mind falling in love again.
7. What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
November 1, AIK won the League. November 8, AIK won the Double. Other than that I'm kinda crap at dates.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Managing to get through this autumn with full time work, a new position (as marketing manager), and part time studying - all at the same time. Oh, and also winning the Business Runner competition.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I refuse to think about it that way. I've learnt something from all of them.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Thankfully, no. Nothing worse than a cold.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Oh. Tickets to Rome was good. I haven't bought very much, other than that. I've had no money until these past months.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Oh. My parents for being lovely. My lovely friends, each and every one of you, for always being there. Always.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Everyone who constantly need to bring everyone around them down in order to feel better themselves.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Boring enough; Food, bills, rent. Probably a fair bit on alcohol and smokes.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
DID I MENTION AIK WON THE LEAGUE THIS YEAR AND THEN FINISHED IT OFF WITH A CUP GOLD TO GIVE US THE FIRST DOUBLE EVER?! IT NEEDS THE CAPS!
16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
I've spent a lot of time listening to my old Lars Winnerbäck songs so, I'm not sure.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? I do think I'm happier.
b) thinner or fatter? Probably gained a few...
c) richer or poorer? Richer, actually.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
I could've used the gym membership...and I regret losing the writing.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Getting worked up and stressed about work.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my family and lovely
abbichicken. Quiet, calm and good food.
21. Did you fall in love in 2009?
No.
22. What was your favorite TV program?
SYTYCD, Supernatural...Criminal Minds.
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No, but I've changed my opinion on some people.
24. What was the best book you read?
I do love my Ian Rankin...
25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I re-discovered Darin, if that counts.
26. What did you want and get?
A soda streamer!
27. What did you want and not get?
Nothing I can't buy for myself (but a PS3 and singstar would've been nice)
28. What was your favorite film of this year?
To be honest, I think I was looking forward to Half-Blood Prince the most. Oh and I was very pleasantly surprised by the Stieg Larsson trilogy, Men who hate women.
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 23. Was stressed in the morning, had family over during the day, then had an amazing costume party during the evening.
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Being able to travel more, I think. I can't get enough.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
Unfortunately, business. Mostly because I spend most of my life in the office.
32. What kept you sane?
AIK - for a change. My friends and family.
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I think it will always be Puppy.
34. What political issue stirred you the most?
I get very angry about the Swedish Democrats. Bastards.
35. Who did you miss?
I did miss
abbichicken a lot when she wasn't around, but luckily she did spend most of her time here. I missed Erika while she was away in Aussie land most of the year. And Erik too, being in Asia and Italy.
36. Who was the best new person you met?
Oh, I don't know. Sadly I haven't met that many new people this year. I met Ben properly for the first time, that was fun.
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.
If it's not meant to be it's not meant to be. It all happens for a reason and somehow, it'll work out in the end.
38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
(this is a bit long, I'd take the whole song, but can't)
Translation (my own so not great, it rhimes in Swedish):
"Though the mascara has been running and your hair's thin and dry
and you're talking cos you're scared of keeping shut.
And you've heard yourself and realised you're not saying anything
and what you really want is only to be kissed.
/.../
Though you've lost belief in happiness, in yourself and everything
and you haven't been in love since '97.
And you've banged your head against a wall 'til you've fallen bleeding to the ground
Not one of us is more beautiful than you
/.../
Because as with everything, beauty is relative
and it's mostly about light and perspective
and if you can't change anything right now
Not one of us is more beautiful than you"
