Some thoughts

So much for updating often, eh?

It's been a strange few weeks. Relaxing and hectic at the same time.

I had my last day at on February 26. It was a strange day. I did feel as if I had done a really good handover and left everything as good as I possibly could. It was a little bit worrying that the girl who was taking over after me got really ill and missed my last three days. But there wasn't much we could do about that.

All in all it was a good last week. It was strange to say good bye to everyone. We had a nice after work party thing on that Friday but it wasn't quite as crazy as it normally is. That was probably just as well since I was getting up early the next morning for my flight. Anyways, I got flowers and people said nice things and I didn't cry - go me!

Next morning I left for London. Wonderful abbichicken came and picked me up at the airport and after a night at her parents' we (she) drove back to Cardiff. Had a wonderful, wonderful week where we did just enough stuff but still had time to drink a bit too much wine and talk talk talk talk. It's weird, really, just how much you can talk to certain people without ever running out of things to say!

We did museums, food, pub, shopping...highlight was definitely Jamie's restaurant. My GOD the food. After a week that flew past way too quickly abbichicken was a total star and drove me all the way back to Heathrow!

This Monday was my first day at my new job. It's weird - really. I've definitely forgotten what it's like not knowing...anything. I'm used to knowing everything about everything at Hays. I knew all the things I didn't need to know. Now - suddenly - I don't know anything!

It feels good though! I'm very excited. I love my office. I love having my own room. I love being able to listen to the radio if I want to. I just found out my desk can change hight with the push of a button so I can stand and work! I have pictures on my wall and a nice view from the window.

The people are really sweet as well, they've made me feel welcome. It'll take a while to settle in, as always, but I do have a brilliant feeling about this! So exciting :)

And yesterday I saw Arsenal trash Porto 5-0 but - then - worst night in a looooong while. Man, I don't know what it was. I had two horrible nightmares. Of the kind where they are still with you when you wake up and I can't quite shake them.

Hopefully this feeling will disappear now. The sun is shining and I think it's almost above 0 outside! It smells of spring.

I miss writing in this journal. I don't know why I don't do it more often!

dreams, work, rl
