'Valentine' is a good one.

Young snoo, I've been thinking, and your adulthood does not have phases, but it does have shifts and skin-shedding. The trick is, in adulthood, it's less formal. Teenagers have ceremonies and announcement for their phases: now I am a goth, I will wear goth clothing and write poetry; now I am responsible, I will carry a day-planner and return your phone calls; now I am in college, I will read real literature instead of vampire porn, I will do my homework instead of staying up all night to play video games.

And when you are an adult, triggered by your twenty-first birthday, or the first time you did something both responsible and economical without being prompted, or taking a firm grip on your financial situation, ...

You don't notice your own shifts so much, so you dispense with the ceremonies and trappings of them, and it falls to others to say, "Wow, you've really grown responsible/selfless/concerned with the environment in a healthy and nonjudgmental way."

Karenly, your voice is just fine. Stop

The usual recording software and hardware distort voices considerably; what were you using?

Also, "my cousin's friends are incredibly strange, but then, most of them are CAPpers so you probably knew that already (x" heh.
