it *is* like a sporting event. Look at the latest primary - the main reason people were voting the way they were (according to the exit polls) was to vote for someone who would defeat the other one.

I don't think that's the goal. I think the goal is to bully, intimidate, punish or basically assault. Just burn the damn village to the ground.

And while I agree with the sport event comparison, I think it's a bit worse than that. I think it's more like war. Us vs. Them. It makes me shake my head... with a country and a government so fucking polarized, how the hell does anyone expect the current administration to get anything done?

And yet, President Obama has managed to accomplish some things. It just makes me admire him even more.

Ed & I are reading this, just absolutely horrified and so sad. How terrible for this man's family & especially his children to come home & find this awful thing has happened! We both hope that the police catch this sick f***ker and prosecute to the full extent of the law.
