Last Saturday, my house was struck by lightning and burned down. Not entirely. I didn't lose much of my stuff really, since the fire mostly affected the upstairs floor. My parents lost almost all of their possessions. Water damage heavily affected the living room and kitchen ( Read more... )

Wow. That's really bad. I hope that you can get everything back to normal soon. That's insane. It's like the type of thing that always happens to "someone else". Good luck with everything.

PS - "I'm sneezin'"

Thanks Steve. It really is kind of those 'someone else' things. What are the odds for a single house to be struck by lightning, anyway?

That PS gave me a laugh. Thanks =P

Maybe you remember? beltzerseltzer September 3 2005, 07:47:19 UTC
One time you told me a story of a conversation you had with Mr. Cowles at JHS one time about school consolidation. I forget how it goes, but the main part I remember is that you basically said Mr. Cowles spouting out incoherent fodder and I found that extremely hilarious. If you remember it, you should post it on here for the world to see.

I remember which story you mean, but I don't remember exactly what he said...just the fact that the more I spoke to him, the more afraid I became and the more I wanted to escape from that conversation.

Yes, I live on Michael. The trucks were pretty loud. There were five of them at our house at one point.

my dad was in jonesboro during that storm. he said it was epic.

5% of my jonesboro life was spent in your house. it was one of the best houses around. so many memories. so god damn many.

may the rebuild live up to the legacy.

if you need donations for anything let me know.

I was watching the storm before the lightning struck. I've seen few storms as spectacular as that one. Yes, the memories. It will be rebuilt, hopefully as awesome as ever. Thanks.

No, you should pull a "Liberty Tower" thing and make the roof uber fireproof with some crazy sprinkler system so that when it NEVER happens again, you'll be ready.

But in all seriousness, it's horrible that this happened to the nicest family I know and I'm just glad that you guys (read: Sugar) are ok. If you need... um... anything from Portland, I'll be glad to help.
