Breaking Away

Well, it seems that the three friends who responded to my last entry are right. Now, I am not killing the character of Otto Lontra, foxonian but my involvement in the furry fandom I believe has come to an end. No one should really be surprised since I have hinted at it every now and then. I am keeping Otto for something, but what I have no idea right now. ( Read more... )

To be honest Otto,I have never really been a furry.Mostly a fur fan or anthro fur art/fiction fan.Aside from my work with Cassie The Rock Vixen and LJ,my involvement in the fandom has always been minimal. There was a time when that bothered me.Now,I consider that a wise move on my part.

Which is basically what I have become now. I will still enjoy the artwork and such, but that's it. My involvement will be very minimal. There was a time when I was chained to the computer and I couldn't get enough, but praise God that is no more.

For some reason,I could never "let myself go" like that concering furrydom(no matter how hard I did try once).I am a person who is really too grounded in reality for my own good.I would see friends I have online totally caught up in their "furry lifestyle" and say,"well,I guess that rocks their boat, but it's just not me".Granted,I haven't shaken off all my inner demons yet,but I do feel like I have my own soul if that make any sense.

Be glad you never did. I can attest that it does do some damage and it's hard to get those scars healed. I'm very much grounded in reality and I will never turn away. I'm still shaking off my own inner demons, but thank God things are getting better.

Whether you consider yourself a furry or not, I'm pleased to have you as a friend, albeit a distant one. Forgive me if it takes a while to separate you from the image of a winged otter though. ;)

As I am glad to have you as a friend. And no worries about trying to separate me from the otter for a while. It took me a long time also. ;-)

LOL!

Well, since I have hinted at this for a while now, nothing too much has changed other than letting others know about this move. ;-)

I have too, and that is definitely a a part of why I left. Other reasons go even deeper than that. To be honest, I left it about two years ago, but it just took a while to really say it.
