That's right. Riposte gives you a parry at Wits + (Parry/2), then an attack at Finesse + (Attack/2). Each dot in Riposte gives you a die you can allocate to the parry or the attack..

So yes, you can allocate all the extra dice to the parry, or all to the attack, or between them as you wish. Get good at Riposting, and your parries could be stronger than your regular parry, plus a weak attack for free. Remember that you round down when halving dice pools.
