At The Point

On Father's Day every year a group of us travel to Cedar Point for the weekend. It's a long standing tradition that goes way, way back.

Behind the cut are photos of our day at the park:

You know you want to see them! )

Yay for CP! God, I haven't been there for ages. I've already been to Put-in-Bay twice this year and I have to basically pass CP to get there. I remember when I used to go every summer and there would be just as many Michigan plates as Ohio.

Oh, and it's touted as the #2 theme park in the entire world, right behind Universal Studio's Islands of Adventure. I went there a few months ago and CP blows it away.

Um, Billy? Cute.

CP is awesome - and Father's Day weekend it is so quiet there. This year we drove down there on Sunday and went to the park Monday morning, and it was practically deserted! Literally you could just walk onto most rides.

Billy is gorgeous. He also works out for several hours a day, so he is completely hard body. He played "Rocky" in our recent production of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and when they pulled the wraps off him and revealed him in his gold lame' glory - the women went wild. He's also incredibly sweet and fun, I think almost every woman I know has a soft spot in her heart for him, even one of my friends who says, "I don't do blondes, but for that boy I'd make an exception!"

Yeah, best times to go are on a Monday or Tuesday morning, especially when there's a chance of rain. It keeps the crowds away, drizzles for 2 seconds, and then you can walk onto the rides. Man, CP is the best park EVAH!

I'm not about the hard bodies, really, but in that first picture, he looked sweet and cute and fun and reminded me of Steve Zahn. He looks like a guy you can really laugh with so that trumps the hardbodiedness and the blondness any ol' day of the week. ;)

I agree about both the hardbodiedness and the blondness. Actually, usually being overly fit turns me off - it makes me insecure.

But you are right - he's actually a really great guy. Funny as hell, silly as can be and also just one of the sweetest and most sincere people I have ever met. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He's been through some really rough times and now I just think he really appreciates life.

But you take all those nice qualities and then add those lovely arms - and it's like sprinkles on the icing on the cake. :) He's going to make some lady very happy.

we've done cedar point just once and loved it though it's sooo huge, and stayed at the great wolf lodge...the kids just love that place.

The hugeness is part of the fun! thewindrose September 1 2005, 14:25:35 UTC
The Great Wolf Lodge seems to be quite popular. It looks cool from the ads and whatnot, I'm not surprised your kids liked it.

Paul, our "dad for the day," is in his 70s and he loves rollercoasters. He's so fun to go with!
